It's been about 3-4 years since I last street raced ( high school) but a big reason why a lot of people did street race and not go to the track was for convenience. I'm not saying that it's all right to do so b/c it is dangerous. But when there is no track within 2 hours of you, gets a little hard especially if you just want to do a quick run and test out any new mods. I don't see any harm in street racing on abandoned streets or industrial/plant roads past working hours in the middle of no where. Would have people watching both ends of street to make sure everything was clear and some even had police scanners :)
